If your not that choosey you can try Kg Stoh KBL pay pond , High Hand ,GenX and FB have been there . Your chances of hooking a Bara in pay pond are better compare to casting for Bara in the wild

have caught a 4kg wild barramundi using a elcheapo lure (RM10) somewhere at Pasir Pandak. (not paypond)
using the same lure, i caught 2 more barramundi at kpg stoh. ("pay if u keep" pond) 1 was a 1kg+ fella, another was a 2kg+ fella.
just 2 weeks ago, i went back to kpg stoh. using my brand new halco sorceror 50cm R11, caught a 1kg mangrovejack. my tackle setup was lemax platinum 4-8lb 5ft, 2-piece rod, with udang galah reel with 12lb seapro monolines. continued casting session, when a big fish (suspected to be a 2kg and above barramundi) took the lure and broke the line in some submerged structure in the pond.
vowed to go back and find my lure.
from experience, i would suggest u use a deep diving lure... that can reach minimum 2m depth... to reach those barramundi and mangrovejack. also... find structure and make sure ur lures swim by close to the structure... and get ready for some heart thumping action!!!
i will post some pix later.

Pay pond, hehe.. actually i would prefer to have a wilder fish ( which is river or in the wild somewhere )... I dont know, catching fish from pond is just like knowing the fish is there and feel like feeding it with lure... hehe...
But, i would like to give it a try as i myself had never hooked on a real good Barra yet... What is the size range ( which is in the pond )..?

I tried to catch Mangroove Jack at Sejingkat and the ones which i manage to land are all smaller version in about 1kg or less... Those that got away ( line broke ) are all above 1.5 KG and more... The pull was too hard which brings the line too close to the rocks and got cut off... So, didnt manage to have feel to bring back the fish... For me, i had tried a lot of lure and the "RAPALA Tail Dancer" gets the most hit... I even had the lure broken half one time... Just the front portion of the lure came back... That time, i was using 12lb mono line on 10-20 casting rod... Too bad cant land any good size Jacks yet... The smaller ones are too easy to land... The bigger ones can pull the line to fast that it broke in less than a minute... even under a good control of drag... mostly due to abrassion on the rocks.. just could not stop the run of the bigger ones....

alright... I will be in touch.. mostly my casting session will be after work... 5.30pm.. The best time will be during the low tide and not high tide as fish is swimming in a wide area and catching them is kinda difficult... most of the mangroove which i caught is on the low tide... But, it's all depends on where is the best place during high and low tide for lure casting.. hehe... And one more thing about casting at sejinkat during high tide... Dangerious Issue on where we stand... Huge moving logs are something we have to be very aware off... During high tides, they are under the waterline and we cant see them... So, sometimes i had no place to have a good stand while casting... I had to do a stupid ricks by standing close to the waterline... I hope we dont have to stand too close this time...
Will after work be a good time for us to meet for casting..? What is your free time...?
My D5 is having serious gearing problem. During retrive, it jammed and i had to applied extra pressure to release the jammed gear again and again on each winding... Had to send back for warranty repair...

sure Dan... that fish didnt really put on a good fight.. the one that got away is the true fighter, but the luck it not mind..
The fish took the lure away... Poor fish too... how to survive with the lure on its mouth... really terrible thinking about it suffering this way if the lure still hanging on the lip...

Wah, you mean you got the whole range of this lure kah.. hehe.... Have it produce high hit rate on the MJ..? I never use that type yet... are those lure expensive..?
I,ve been using Rapala and lost alot of it to MJ... Maybe if i could lower the cost for an effective lure that works on MJ, it would be great... I been lure fishing for MJ and they are sure very picky... Top water lure like walking the dog or the popper has no effect on this MJ... The most i had with Top Water lure is the Ikan Bulan... Imagine while using the Walk The Dog lure for top water action, a fish jumped out or th water taking your lure.. It sure make a very huge show to those who fish aroud you. hehe....
